Since my boyfriend is half Greek, every Summer we spend our holidays in Greece, in Athens.
I like evey single thing of our holidays, but above all, I like FOOD! I enjoy eating very much, and I have a sweet tooth, so, when I am in Italy, I particularly miss Greek sweets. The two I like most are Baklava and Kataifi (as you can see from the photos). Basically, they are made of phyllo paste stuffed with honey syrup and chopped walnuts and hazelnuts. Have you ever tried them? I really can’t get enough, but they are very difficult to find in Italy, because there are not many shops specialized in Greek food, and even Greek restaurants aren’t very good. In spite of this, I’m lucky because my mother-in-law (who is Greek but lives in Italy) sometimes cooks an awesome Baklava.. so when I eat it, it seems to me that I am in Greece again :D
